Welcome to Region 827! Parents play a very important role in our Region. Please get involved and help our kids. Every parent (or volunteer) can assist in some way. If your team has already selected a team parent, see what you can do to help. Fields need to be marked each week, goals have to be set up, help is always needed at the snack bar and Field Monitors keep spectators from delaying the games. The Region has many positions that are filled. Every team needs Coaches, every game needs Referees and the Board always needs Management positions to be filled. The good news is that our region has our own Nationally certified training staff. Chuck McKaughan will conduct several training classes this year for Coaches and Management staff, and Luis Olmos will train Referees.
This season, Julie Olmos has been selected as the Regional Team Parent Administrator. She will assist each team and answer questions about volunteering. Prior to the start of the season, a parents meeting will be held. The meeting will be an informal town hall type affair with members of the Regional Board and the Coach and Referee Administrators being available to answer questions.
We have planned a Barbeque and field day this year to mark the beginning of the season. Parents, players and volunteers are encouraged to come out and help mark the fields and prepare for the season. Julie Olsmos and/or Board members will be available to answer questions and help.
This web page is still in its infancy. Last year we learned that some schedules changed after they had been posted. This year we hope to avoid that by not only having the schedules by Division, but also by a spreadsheet for the given Saturday. Any ideas or concerns about the web site can be forwarded to any Board member.
